To be able to take advantage of our service you must be a Black Carer. Not sure what that means? Below are the definitions - if any of them apply to you then we can help you. |
||
| What we mean by the term 'Black' | ||
|
If you are of African, African Caribbean, Asian,
Chinese or Vietnamese origin then, under our Projects definition, you
are a black person. |
||
| What we mean by the term 'Carer' | ||
|
If you are looking after someone who cannot perform
daily tasks on their own due to an illness, disability, or the effects
of old age, then you are a carer. You do not have to live with the person
and they do not have to be related to you. It could be a friend or neighbour.
The person that you are caring for does not necessarily have to be black. |
||
|
This organisation is for the benefit of you the carer and not directly for the person for whom you care. |

| Who else can use our service? | ||
|
Other organisations and community groups can use
our services as well as carers. We offer information and advice for
organisations that work with Black Carers in Bristol. We liaise with
other organisations in the community and try to involve them in the
work we do as much as possible. Working together for the benefit of
the local community is important to us. |
